Meditation at Eden Health Retreat

“Just meditate, you’ll be fine…” “Breathe, let go…” All these things are easier said than done. If you have never practised meditation before, it can be difficult to know where to start.

Meditation is an ancient Eastern practice and the Western world has adopted the tradition, albeit with a modern twist.  Whatever type of meditation you practise, it’s goal remains the same: to achieve a calm and thoughtful mental state through deep breathing and visualisation exercises, to leave feeling refreshed and less stressed. Some of the biggest benefits of practising meditation include:

  • Stress/anxiety relief
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Better sleep
  • Lower heart rate
  • A deeper sense of relaxation

Various forms of meditation are woven throughout the program during your stay at Eden. Early morning classes introduce guests to some slow and gentle Qi Gong and yoga practices. After breakfast, it’s time for a little more intensity with fitness classes, boxing and adventure activities, whilst the afternoon and evenings’ rituals are centred around calming and relaxation.

At Eden Health Retreat, we engage in a variety of activities that can help you achieve a clearer state of mind and better sense of well being. Meditation brings into awareness the Yin and Yang, the fast and slow of everyday life. Something that a lot of people struggle with is the ‘slow’ part. And who can blame us? Life can be demanding trying to fit work, family and health into each day.

Eden retreat encourages guests to live in the moment. We do this by avoiding a set, written program for the week, instead allowing the week to flow freely, leaving you to choose what treatment, exercise or downtime you may need on that day. This surrender can often be quite difficult for people who are used to being in control and planning ahead. The next day’s activities are usually given to guests the night before.

Evening activities include a mindful meditation, a walk to visit our glow worms, music, crystal bowl healing and even sitting around a camp fire under the stars! This part of our program showcases how varied meditation can be and there is no right or wrong way to achieve your personal sense of calm.

To meditate is to be present and aware of your energetic vibration as well as others’ vibrations. We live in a world with billions of different energies and some will affect us more than others. By trying something you have never done before, we give ourselves the opportunity to learn and grow.

If our guests take away a small lesson from our retreat and a greater sense of calm in even just one area of our lives – that is #simplyeden. Our health retreat helps guests to reset and surrender in the heart of the beautiful and sacred Currumbin Valley.

Our team of dedicated and experienced instructors will guide you through activities designed to help you reconnect with your true self. Contact us to learn about our various activities and how we can help you feel your best, all day, every day.
