International Women’s Day

Three of Eden Health Retreats leading Women share what it means to them, to represent Women everywhere on this International Women’s Day.

Ellice Di Giovanni – Brain Changing Movement Specialist

What does being a powerful woman look like to you?

“To me, being a woman means I’m someone who doesn’t have it all figured out, but I still show up every day to try my best – for no-one other than myself.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

“If I could give advice to my younger self, it would be to ignore the doubters, or those who don’t believe in you. All that matters is that YOU always believe in yourself, every step of the way. Always listen to your inner knowing – it will never lead you astray.

How can you encourage other women to empower themselves?

“I encourage women to be fascinated by every inch, every beat, and every breath you get to take. Take the leap and journey with yourself – she will always be there for you, You, and only you, will be your greatest teacher, friend and love of your life.

What would you like to see changed from this international day for women?

“For this International Women’s Day I want to see women lifting each other up, encouraging each other, standing up for each other, and empowering each other. Together we can change the world.”

Elisha Morgan Nutritionist

1. A powerful woman is built by continuously venturing into the unknown & fearlessly following the passion held in her heart

2. If only my younger self knew that the only validation, she needed would be given to her by herself, that she would be capable of anything that spoke to her heart & that confidence is built upon evidence left behind from doing the things that scared her the most

3. I would encourage other women to empower themselves by entertaining the thought that there is no such thing as failure, only outcomes & knowledge; so go for it, your future is waiting to be built

4. I would love to see women truly lose the guilt in ‘filling their own cup first’, it’s not selfish & never was.

What does being a powerful woman look like to you?

The term ‘powerful woman’, conjures images of being confident, assertive, and self-assured, able to stand up for herself. To me, being powerful means lifting others up so they can be their best selves.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Don’t worry about ticking boxes.  Motherhood, career, body image. These don’t have to be the goals you live for. I’d tell myself that it’s ok to do the things that truly light me up and not the things society expects.

How can you encourage other women to empower themselves?

Sharing stories and knowledge. At Eden we humbly hold space to share our stories, or tips & tools that have helped us become more resilient and empowered. Words are potent tools and using them to lift each other up is a  powerful way to develop our own growth and theirs.
